Nursing Jobs Advice and Information

Health Care Industry Providing More Jobs than Ever

Because the population in the U.S. is aging, the health care industry will no doubt be one of the strongest markets for jobs for quite some time.  This can be clearly seen in the job openings in Hudson Valley as many of them are in local nursing homes, medical centers and physicians’ offices.  The good news is that it is not only nursing positions that are available in the health care industry.  There is also a need for accountants, administrators and technology experts.

Over the past few years, many of these health care providers have been changing over to electronic systems so there is also a need for people to work on this.  Receptionists and medical secretaries are also going to be needed for as long as the health care sector remains strong.

While there is a requirement for non medical staff, the number of nursing jobs and other medical jobs that are posted is very high.  Health care providers in the area are always looking for physical therapy assistants as well as certified nursing assistants and registered nurses.   The good news is that there are numerous courses offered for these positions in colleges throughout the United States.  However, it is worth noting that there is a lot of competition for these positions and this is down to the fact that there are many hospitals merging with each other and downsizing.  Another reason is that people are working longer so a lot of older nurses are staying on past retirement age.

Anyone looking for a job these days should check out the various medical facilities in their area because they may be surprised at the wide variety of positions that are available.  For example, the Crystal Run Healthcare recently advertised positions such as registered nurse, physician assistant, licensed practical nurse, business intelligence analyst, and accounts receivable clerk while Orange Regional Medical Center had positions available for a benefits supervisor, nursing assistant, psychiatric technician and a medical staff credentials coordinator.
